A little excitement

I know I wrote on Monday about apathy consuming me. A bit of excitement has canceled that out the last day or so. When I was in Vegas for the Western Region Waterski meeting, I noticed an e-mail regarding a “student web-programming job”. That particular weekend was very busy and hectic, so I didn’t reply at the time, and it took me a few days to fully recover before the next weekend vacation. And, well, I just got around to inquiring about it yesterday afternoon.

Long story short, they asked me at 11:30pm last night to come in for an interview today at 10:30am. I also know they’ve been looking through my website, so I won’t say anything more.

*fingers crossed*

Skiing last weekend.

Went skiing a week and a half ago to Anthony Lakes (Eastern OR). We left Wednesday night and stayed with my former roommate in Thedalles, continued on early morning for Baker City for a dip in the hot tub, and a live band at a local brew pub. Good nachos, good beer, so-so music. Skied Fri, Sat, Sun, and drove back Monday. Skiing was good, driving was meh. Hotel had free wired internet.

And I think I’ve come down with a case of senior-itis. 6 years into college will probably do that to a person. Granted I haven’t taken much of a full course load (averaging probably 10-11 credits a term). But I feel more apathetic towards my academics now than I normally do 8 weeks into Spring term. What can I say? Blah.

I applied for the Digital Arts program again earlier this month. If I don’t get in this time, I don’t know what I’ll do. I can’t recall how long the review process was last year. I just want to know now (and I want a positive response this time).

I blame my sweetie for my lack of blogging this last YEAR. I tried getting her to blog more, and that spurred I think one post on her decrepit LiveJournal(tm). On the brighter side, I love her more than anything, and she has been most helpful inspiring me to stay in this color theory class and actually doing some of the projects with me. I’ve got something like 5 paintings to get done for tomorrow though, so…. oh yea.. BLAH.

I’m not sure what else to say other than “blah.”

Viva Las Vegas!

Stop 1 on my trip to the annual WCWSA meeting in Las Vegas. The Eugene Airport. They have free wireless here, it’s great! Hopefully I’ll have such luck again on the way, and I’ll try to update when I can. General boarding is starting…

Update: 1/2 hour flight from EUG to PDX, and they even had complimentary micro brew and wine with the beverage service. 2 for 2 on airports with free wifi. Got a few hours layover in Portland before going to Las Vegas. I’ll be cross-posting this to my personal website as well.

Another update: the meeting and fun excitement is over and went pretty successfully. I am, however, stuck in the LAS airport waiting on standby, and might get stuck here until 11ish pm. On the bright side, this is the 3rd of 3 airports with free wifi access. The hotel (Imperial Shithole) did not have free wifi.
