Work is picking up.

Well work seems to be picking up lately, what with the influx of people wanting their computers to work before classes start next week. Lots of professors and students showing up with new computers they want to get working and such.

Life remains a tad boring. I have no disposable income to blow on “fun” things, and there is no snow with which to ski on yet. Roommate search is on, so far there is one strong candidate thus far.. I’ll be making my decision on Friday.

Also, I really, really want a new computer, and I’m eyeing up the new G5 iMac to replace my PowerBook (and potentially my beige g3 as well). I want to decide by Friday on this as well, as the $99 Final Cut Express (with a new computer) deal ends Saturday. Ah, dreams.

[edit]Yay, the FCE deal is extended a few more months![/edit]

International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

In honnor of the holiday today, I decided to get my page translated. If it loads slow, it won’t be this way for more than a day, unless I forget about it.

Some links of interest today: Pirate Keyboard, Talk Like a Pirate Translator (made by a friend of mine from work), and WikiPedia.

I think I’m all prepared to meet with the admissions guy at the college to officially become an Oregonian in the eyes of the school. If that doesn’t work out, I may just become a ski bum for a year! Either way I win 😀

Firefox‘s one problem is when I upgrade to a newer version, all the search plugins disappear, and until very recently, all the plugins. So today I’ve been working on a small program that backs up the search plugins and can restore them later. I may or may not post it at some point, but someone wants it, I will. Note: it only works with OS X, and I’ve only tested with 1.0PR.

Mmmm, Vikings play tomorrow night!

Heavy Mental.

Earlier this summer I ordered the Otep DVD “Abominations.” I just recieved it today, and all I can say is WOW! Any time you watch video of live performances, a lot gets lost from actually being there, but I was out of my seat headbanging to some of these videos. The energy they put into their music is unfathomable.

“So let it be written,
so let it be done,
the brighter they shine,
the darker we become.”
