w00t!

Well “Winter Break” has been in effect for a little over a week now, and I’m enjoying it a lot. Got to go skiing all day Thursday, and probably going again on Monday and/or Tuesday.

Checked my grades online today, got a B in both my classes! I’m sporting a 3.0, and I’m really excited about that! I’m sick of hearing people whine about their GPA not being 4.0, it’s just sickening. 3.0 is an accomplishment for me, it’s the highest GPA I’ve had, and I worked hard for it, therefore I’m proud of it!

I think I might’ve mentioned that I might be racing in college this year, I’m not going to. Practices are *all day* tuesday/thursday, and that is hard enough to work a schedule around. The other factor is I’m new to the area and don’t want to have so much money tied up in a season pass to ONE ski area. Will probably look into it a little more next year.

I’m not sure why, but I’m stressing a little right now. I’m usually good at dealing with day-to-day stress, but I’m a little tense tonight. Hopefully I’ll get a bunch done tomorrow and start getting prepared for the future a bit. We’ll see. *sigh*

Stuff.

Well, I got the job. Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, I start after the holiday vacation. That’s good news, though some spending money for my trip would be nice. I think my official job title is “Microcomputer Support Apprentice”, though I’m not certain. Yay job!

I think I’ve decided to not do the ski team thing. It would eat up too much time (literally ALL DAY 2 days a week plus 4 straight weekends and like 2 weeks at the end for regionals and nationals), maybe next year. I’ll be doing plenty of skiing over the holiday, and there are plenty of trips through the outdoor program and the local ski shop to any of the ski areas around.

Thanksgiving was great fun, spent it with my brother and his family in Boise ID. Did some skiing at Bogus Basin, snow was a tad sparse and it rained one day. “A bad day on the slopes is better than a good day at school/work/whatever”

Decided against that “risky business proposal”. I’ll just say the story begins with “So I met this guy in a bar…” and involves selling some equipment (that’s currently in another state) on ebay. I don’t know if I would’ve gotten burned if I did it, but I wasn’t comfortable with it at all.

So the holidays are coming up.. wanna see my spectacular decorations?

Time flies.

…and I didn’t even know I was having fun yet. I can’t believe it’s 3 weeks into November already! Ski club/team is organizing, classes are winding to an end, the Transfer Interest Group I’m in is getting the final meeting organized. Thanksgiving is next week, wow.

Some follow ups from my last post:
* Got my paper back, I got an A.. that really made my day!!
* Had my Computing Center job interview right afterwards. (I’ll follow up on this after I hear back from them)
* Still not sure what to think about this ski team business.. I don’t think I really want to compete again. Racing in high school was great fun, and the team rocked, but I think I’d rather just go out skiing for fun. And it sounds as though most of the membership fees go towards transportation and coaching. Traveling to regionals (in Montana) for nearly a week might cut into my education, and such. I’ll have to think about it some more.
